Jack Gorman is a filmmaker with experience in producing narrative, commercial, promotional other kinds of film and video work. He is the owner/founder of Take the Ride Films, an independent film production company, as well as Jack Gorman Productions, a video and marketing company.
He began with running the video department of the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League in 2006. This position involved a significant amount of editing, in cutting hour long scouting videos for coaches and players each week of the season. In addition, Jack Gorman supervised all video capture of both team practices and games.
In 2007, he revolutionized the video distribution process for the coaches, making it significantly easier and more efficient. One coach credited this upgrade as a significant contribution to the team’s 16 game winning streak, culminating in the team’s victory in ArenaBowl XXI. Jack Gorman also received the opportunity to bring this process to the Arizona Rattlers in 2008.
Upon moving to the Washington Kastles (World TeamTennis) in 2010, Jack Gorman embarked on a completely different experience: that of the creation of promotional videos. These videos are meant to introduce the team to new audiences, both potential ticket holders and sponsors. Working with Foundation Digital Media, two videos were nominated for Emmy awards, with one win in 2013.
As a narrative filmmaker, Jack has completed two short films in the Patriots and Tyrants Film Universe, including Patriots and Tyrants and Served Cold. The former screened at the Maryland International Film Festival in March 2015, and both films can be seen online on the Patriots and Tyrants Film website. In addition, Jack also wrote, edited and directed the award-winning micro-short Saturday Night, which premiered on YouTube in May 2016.
Jack’s film production company, Take the Ride Films, is also in pre-production for its first feature film, as well as seeking financing or sale for a television pilot and for the first feature film in the P&T Universe: Graveyard of Empires.
