French fries are among the world’s most perfect foods. When done right, they’ve got it all: potatoes, grease, salt, crispiness, hot insides and easy to eat. However, as you know, they are also among the world’s most high-fat side dish, so you can’t eat them every day. However – these quick and easy oven fries will help make fries something you can eat a little more often.
1 tbsp chili powder per potato
1 tbsp onion powder per potato
1 tbsp garlic powder per potato
1 potato per person
Preheat oven to broil. Cover a cookie sheet with foil, and coat foil with cooking spray.
Clean potatoes. Slice each potato into fries, as thinly as possible.
Combine all seasonings into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and shake well to combine. Add cut potatoes and shake thoroughly for at least a minute. There should be very little, if any, loose seasoning in the bag.
Empty bag onto cookie sheet and arrange fries into a single layer. Lightly shake some season salt and pepper onto the fries. Coat thoroughly with cooking spray.
Broil for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and flip fries as best you can. Coat again with cooking spray. Return to broil for another 10 minutes, or until brown. Some ends will blacken; this is normal, but be your own best judge as to when you consider them done.
