Jack Gorman has 16 years experience as a Sports Executive, working with eight professional and collegiate sports organizations throughout his career. He has worked in a variety of areas, including as a professional football scout, video operations, recruiting and hiring, public relations and communications, and gameday management.
Overall, Jack Gorman has been a part of six championship teams, eight conference finalists and 14 playoff participants in two different sports. In 2013, Jack Gorman was with the Washington Kastles when the team set the longest winning streak in major US pro sports history at 34 wins. The Kastles broke the 41 year old streak set by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Football Coach and Scout
Jack Gorman worked with multiple professional football teams in the area of coaching and scouting, including the San Diego Chargers, San Jose SaberCats and Arizona Rattlers. With the Arena Football’s Rattlers, Jack Gorman served as the Director of Player Personnel, which included leading the team’s player recruitment operations and salary cap management. After joining the team in 2007, Jack’s efforts led to a doubled-win total from the previous year and 3rd place in the conference.
Beginning in 2006, Jack Gorman has run video operations for each sports organization he’s worked with. Jack Gorman installed a video scouting system with the San Jose SaberCats, making the organization the first in the AFL to be fully digital. After the team won the AFL championship in 2007 in dominant fashion, the coaching staff credited the video system with playing a part in the team’s title run. In 2010, Jack Gorman moved into creating promotional video and television commercials with the Washington Kastles. His videos have played before thousands of fans on in-stadium Jumbotrons and on television broadcasts such as Wimbledon and the 2014 World Cup.
Recruiting and Hiring
Jack Gorman has over a decade recruiting and hiring staff for the organizations he’s worked with. Over the years, he’s reviewed thousands of resumes, conducted close to 2000 phone interviews, and hired hundreds of staff members. Jack Gorman’s created hiring plans, drawn up job descriptions and managed all aspects of the process.
Public Relations and Communications
Getting his start working in professional public relations with the Washington Redskins while completing his undergraduate studies, Jack Gorman has since worked for the University of California – Berkeley, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Rattlers and Washington Kastles in these areas. At Cal, Jack Gorman secured a front-page placement for the Men’s Tennis team in the sports section of the San Francisco Chronicle. With the Arizona Rattlers, Jack Gorman managed a national, history-making public relations campaign, which received attention from Sports Illustrated, ESPN and Fox Business News.
Gameday and Event Operations
Jack Gorman has several years of experience managing various aspects of gameday and event operations. This includes creating and managing the run of show, match script, arranging in-game entertainment and video programming and making split-second decisions with thousands of fans in attendance. The Washington Kastles have been long-recognized to have one of the best gameday experiences in DC sports.
